Cross and Isolated margin

The margin mode determines how collateral supports your Futures exposure.

1

Understand the selected mode

Cross uses eligible shared collateral to support positions within that margin arrangement. Losses can affect funds supporting other positions. Isolated assigns margin to a particular position rather than treating all collateral as a shared pool.

2

Review collateral and position details

Check the margin mode on the actual position, its allocated margin, available funds and liquidation information. If you add or reduce isolated margin, review the updated requirements before confirming. Do not assume every asset is accepted as collateral.

3

Verify any change

Use only the mode and margin controls available for that contract. Read restrictions related to existing orders or positions. After confirmation, check the mode and margin on the resulting position; changing a form setting does not by itself prove an existing position changed.

Before you continue

Isolated margin does not make trading risk-free. Check the applicable product rules, fees and any automatic margin settings rather than assuming a universal maximum-loss guarantee.
